Then I saw this in a new light. It is only with the help of the Holy spirit and his revealed love towards us that we can truly love one another. What many believers are not doing (sad to say) I’m guilty of this at times too, is the golden principle, Love one another. But how do you really love someone? It is one thing to say I love you. But what have you done to demonstrate to someone you love them. Have you reached out to someone who is hurting and helped them, even in a small way as nature reveals in the picture. A simple single flower. One of beauty and fragrance to us, but also nourishment to our bodies. There are great prophets, healing ministries, speakers and teachers. All these gifts are great and we need them all. But Jesus said that you would “know them by their fruits” What he was saying is that the world would know that we are his children by the way we relate to one another. This includes how we deal with our brothers and sisters in the lord, our family, friends, co-workers, employer, and yes even strangers. For how can we bring them to Christ if we do not demonstrate love in a tangible way. Now I’m not saying that we have to like everyone. There are some Christians that I am not too fond of. But we are to love them. Jesus is the embodiment of love. He came and took on human form for a people and world that despised and rejected him. He willingly gave his life as a ransom for ours. Such love is hard for our human mind to comprehend. And Jesus prayed that we would know him as he knows the father in heaven , that we be one as he and his father is one. WOW what a prayer. Can we really be that close to the creator of all creation, would he even want us, would he reject us? Oh, the enemy would like for us to believe that it is impossible for us to realize this reality. Christ Jesus would not have prayed that prayer if it was not possible. He didn’t say too bad they can’t know you as I do. So when we take that love and share it with one another it is then that the world will know that we are his.
The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. For if I speak with the tongue of men and angels and have not loved I am a clanging symbol. Lord I pray that I would know your love more and more each day of my life. It is your loving kindness towards me that melts my heart. The enemy would love to beat me down with thoughts of unworthiness of receiving your love because of my sin and past failures. But you have revealed your love to me in your son Jesus when you sent him to die for me. I thank you and praise you for who you are and what you have done for me.
It is my prayer that you continue to show yourself to me. For I believe that I have only begun to understand and receive your love. I know that there is more in store for me on this journey that I am on. And as I grow to know you more and understand you more I ask that you make yourself known to others through me. For I want others to know your love as I have come to know you. You are a loving God and a merciful God. In me you have taken a life that was torn and tattered and made it beautiful, loving and far better than I could have ever imagined it could be. Shine Jesus Shine. Just as you shown your love through these creatures you created as the picture shows , may I show your love towards one another so the whole earth reveals your glory.
